Talamati Bushveld Camp - Kruger National Park:

Location: This camp is situated on the bank of the Nwaswitsontso Spruit about 31 km from Orpen Gate.

Description:

Regulations: Visitors may take occupation of their accommodation from 12:00 and are requested to vacate before 09:00 on the day of departure.

Entrance gates and restcamp gates are closed at night. Visitors must ensure that they arrive at the entrance gate in good time to reach the restcamp before closing time. No permits will be issued for late arrivals.

Accommodation: There are fifteen family cottages that accommodate 80 persons.

Ten two-bedroom cottages (6 persons per cottage)
Both bedrooms have two single beds and a ceiling fan. One bedroom has a bathroom en suite (with shower, toilet and washbasin). A second bathroom has a bath, shower and washbasin and there is also a separate toilet. The lounge has two bench-beds and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has a gas stove (with oven), refrigerator, sink, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The diningroom is on the open veranda.

Five one-bedroom cottages (4 persons per cottage)
The bedroom has two single beds and a ceiling fan and the lounge has a ceiling fan and two bench-beds. The bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and washbasin. There is a gas stove (without oven), a refrigerator, sink, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery in the kitchen. The diningroom is on the open veranda.

Services:
  • Refrigerators do not have freezing compartments, but there is a communal freezer in the camp.
  • Barbecue facilities are provided
  • Open parking is available.
  • Solar panels provide electricity for lights and fans only.
  • The nearest shop is at the Orpen Restcamp.
  • Units are serviced and towels, bedding and soap are provided.
  • Night drives and day excursions.
  • Two hides.

General Information:

- Climate
Satara is in a summer rainfall area. Such precipitation is usually convectional and can result in heavy downpours. The summer months (October to April) are hot and often humid. Winters are warm and mild, although visitors going on night-drives will require warm clothing.

- Day Visitors
Satara has a designated day visitor area where day visitors and visitors from other camps can barbecue (braai) and picnic. As one enters the gate, it is reached by turning to the left.
