Central Zululand and the Battlefields Region is a dry thornveld area of large hills, big views, battlefield sites and museums. These carry the history of the battles starting in the 19th century between the Zulus and the Boers, then the Zulus and British (Anglo Zulu War of 1879) and finally the Boers and the British.
KwaZulu Natal is also abundant in traditional Zulu crafts.
