South Africa has numerous reptile / snake parks which allow one to view many of Southern Africa's reptile / snake species. Most will even allow you to handle some of the non-venomous snakes!

Pure Venom Reptile Farm

One of the largest and most unique of South Africa's reptile parks! Open 7 days a week 9am to 5pm. Set on one of Izotsha's oldest and most beautiful estates and just inland from Shelly Beach, on KwaZulu Natal's South Coast, Pure Venom's collection of indigenous and exotic reptiles is extensive.

CrocRiver Enviro Park

Located in nelspruit, the CrocRiver Enviro Park is by far the largest facility of its type in Africa. The CrocRiver Enviro Park offers the visitor a variety of attractions, amongst which are the Turtle Ponds, the Crocodile Ponds, the Fish Pond (all linked, the first overflowing into the other two), the Water Monitor Lizard Pond; the Auditorium, fully equipped with modern audiovisual facilities; the Desert House, in which a desert like atmosphere was created, is home to the Reptile Gallery where indigenous and exotic reptiles from all over the world are displayed.

Hartbeespoortdam Snake and Animal Park

The Park features one of the finest reptile collections in Southern Africa. Entertaining seal shows & snake handling demonstrations are performed on Sundays & Public Holidays at 12:00 & 15:00

Khamai Reptile Park

Formerly the Swadini Reptile Park, the park has now been renamed the Kahamai Reptile Park, after the Greek word for chameleon. Although its primary aims are conservation, breeding of endangered reptiles and education, the park is open to the public. It offers a close-up look at many local as well as exotic snakes, crocodiles and lizards, as well as a rare opportunity to learn what really makes these creatures tick. Get yourself photographed with a python and buy a key ring commemorating the occasion. Snacks and drinks can be bought inside the park.

Fitzsimons Snake Park

The Fitzsimons Snake Park in one of South Africa's oldest and most well known snake parks. The park is located on Durban's Golden Mile in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. This special snake park is not just a tourist attraction, but the facility is also used to collect venom for the production of anti-snake-bite serum.
